What Is Meta Muse? Meta's AI Agent, Explained

Last reviewed . Every claim below is backed by a source in Sources. Where we have no source, the guide says so.

Meta Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, launched on 8 September 2026. You message it like you would a person, in the Muse app or in WhatsApp, and it does tasks for you, such as sending an email or booking travel. It checks with you before sensitive steps like a purchase. As of 2 November 2026, Meta says it is available in the US, Canada, Japan and Singapore. Meta's launch post says it is free for most of what people need, with subscription plans for people who want to do more. It reaches other apps through connectors, which is what this site tracks.

What Muse does

Muse takes a task or a goal and works on it, rather than only answering questions. Meta's launch announcement says “It can open a browser, fill out forms, and negotiate on their behalf”, and that for longer tasks “Muse keeps working after people close the app, and comes back when something changes or when it needs approval, like before it sends an email or makes a purchase.”

Three things set it apart from a chat assistant, all in Meta's own words:

What it does well in practice is less settled. The reports we save are on each connector page, good and bad, with links to the posts.

Where you can use it

Muse is on iPhone, Android, iPad, Mac and the web at muse.ai, in four countries. The dates, from the sources below:

| Date (2026) | What happened | Source | | --- | --- | --- | | 8 September | Launch in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai; AI glasses “coming soon” | Meta Newsroom | | 18 September | Available in Canada | iPhone in Canada | | 19 September | Mac app mentioned by Meta's Alexandr Wang | Saved X post | | 7 October | iPad app | TechCrunch | | 23 October | Available in Japan, Meta's first region outside North America | Meta Newsroom (Japan) | | 27 October | Available in Singapore, on iOS, Android and muse.ai | Meta Newsroom |

You can also talk to Muse “directly in WhatsApp”, per the launch post. Muse on AI glasses has no date: Meta's Connect recap says “in the coming months”. For the full country picture, including what people elsewhere are asking for, see Is Meta Muse available in my country?

How Muse connects to other apps

A connector links Muse to another service, such as Gmail or Slack, so it can act there for you. Meta's help page on connectors says Facebook, Instagram and Threads connect automatically when they are in the same Accounts Center, and that access to Apple Health or Android SMS is managed in your device settings.

Meta does not publish the full list: it lives inside the app, behind sign-in. This directory lists only connectors we can trace to a public source, each with a status label. Today that tally is:

These numbers count our sourced listings, not every connector in Muse. See which connectors are live for the names. To check your own apps in one go, use the app checker. What are Muse connectors? explains the kinds, and the most-requested list shows the apps people are asking for that have no connector yet. If an app is missing, Muse can also try to build a custom connector, which Meta does not review.

Muse, Muse Spark, Muse Wonder and Muse Code

“Muse” is Meta's name for the agent and for a family of models and tools, which is a common source of confusion in search results.

| Name | What it is | Who it is for | | --- | --- | --- | | Muse | The personal AI agent in the app, on the web and in WhatsApp | Anyone in a supported country | | Muse Spark | The model that powers Muse at launch, per Meta | Muse users; developers via the Meta Model API | | Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full | Newer models announced 12 October, “built to deliver state-of-the-art performance on personal and professional agentic tasks” | Developers now; Muse subscribers first, “soon” | | Muse Code | Meta's coding tool, installed as a command-line program | Developers |

For the developer side, see Muse Spark on the Meta Model API and Muse Code.

Privacy and approvals

Meta says Muse “has no visibility into people's passwords or payment methods”, asks before sensitive actions, shows “a complete audit trail”, and does not share your conversations or VM data with Meta's ad systems. You can opt out of your interactions being used to train Meta's AI models. These are Meta's descriptions of its own design; we have found no independent audit.

Meta patched a security flaw in Muse on 22 September, as The Verge reported. Our safety guide covers what has gone wrong in public and the settings worth checking.

What it costs

Meta's launch post says “It's free for most of what people need, with subscription plans for people who want to do more.” We do not list prices: they are not on a Meta page we can cite, and third-party figures disagree. Meta's subscriptions help page requires you to “Be located in a country where Muse is available” to subscribe.
